1. University of Auckland, New Zealand

The University of Auckland (Māori: Te Whare Wānanga o Tāmaki Makaurau) is a public university in New Zealand’s largest city, Auckland. It is located on North Shore City’s North Shore, with its main campus situated well to the east of the Central Business District, closer to Auckland City than Waitakere City.

The university originated in 1883 as a constituent college of then University of New Zealand and became an independent university as UNIVERSITY OF AUCKLAND (UNI OF AKL) from 1 January 1961 after federation with other colleges to form a national multi-campus state-funded tertiary education system. As of 2011 it has more than 28,000 students enrolled.

2. University of Calgary, Canada

The University of Calgary’s MD/PhD program attracts students from around the world as it offers MBBS Scholarships for International Students , including many international students. The program is held jointly between its Faculty of Medicine and its Faculty of Graduate Studies. To be considered as an international student applicant, you must have received your undergraduate degree at an accredited university.

You will also need to show English proficiency (minimum requirement: IELTS overall score of 6.5). If accepted into the program, all tuition costs are covered by UCalgary. In return, you will be required to complete 30 units per year—five classes each term. This includes a contract year where you take intensive science courses and conduct research alongside a faculty mentor. You may also have to write and defend a thesis if pursuing a PhD degree.

3. Karolinska Institute, Sweden

The Karolinska Institute or KI is one of Sweden’s most prestigious research-oriented universities. Its medical school regularly ranks among the best in Europe and its Nobel Prize recipients include many distinguished researchers from all over medicine, physiology, chemistry, economics and literature.

It has had many notable alumni including: Ingvar Kamprad who founded IKEA, Ingvar Folkers who synthesized vitamin B12 and Hertha Sponer who helped develop Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). KI offers 5 different scholarships each valued at 150 000 SEK per year.

4. Duke University School of Medicine, USA

The Duke University School of Medicine offers four different types of financial aid to students, including grants, student loans, scholarships and internships. Out-of-state students can receive a $20,000 stipend from their first year through fourth year if they are eligible for a Federal Direct Unsubsidized Stafford Loan. These loans are available once per academic level and a borrower’s total amount owed cannot exceed their cost of attendance.

For example, an out-of-state student who has received a loan that is equal to his/her total cost of attendance will be required to pay additional funding in order to cover other expenses. Alternatively, each year Duke also awards approximately 300 scholarships valued at approximately $1 million each year in addition to institutional aid grants.

5. King’s College London, United Kingdom

The Medical Council of India (MCI) is a central body that monitors, regulates and grants permission to set up medical colleges across India. Foreign nationals can study medicine in public colleges, but there are only two places—the All India Institute of Medical Sciences and King’s College London—that accept foreign students.

Foreign nationals must have completed their undergraduate studies at a university recognised by MCI and score high on an English-language exam as well as a medical entrance test administered by MCI before applying to these programs. The King’s scholarship consists of nine semesters over four years. Awardees must return to their home country after completing their degrees.

6. University of Melbourne, Australia

Melbourne University offers $80,000 per year for MBBS Scholarships for International Students, duration of 5 years. The award covers tuition fees and living expenses. Deadline is 31 December 2022. Selection based on academic performance, relevant work experience and personal statement.

7. University of Oxford, United Kingdom

Full Funding, No Teaching: Oxford is ranked number one worldwide, with four of its departments listed in the top five. There are three full-funding scholarships available each year – one to a UK/EU student and two to international students. The scholarships cover tuition fees and maintenance, but you will be expected to teach medical students part-time during your final year at Oxford.

The application deadline is December 1st and interviews take place in February. You’ll need to write an 800 word personal statement that includes how you made it through your previous academic work and how will you achieve your long-term goal. If admitted, there’s also a mandatory eight-week summer program held at Yale University.

8. University of Sydney Medical School, Australia

The University of Sydney’s Faculty of Medicine and Nursing is one of Australia’s top research facilities, with a worldwide reputation. It has an international intake, with almost half of its full-time undergraduates coming from overseas.

The faculty offers around $2 million per year in scholarships and bursaries to undergraduate students. The Faculty offers five four-year scholarships worth between $32,000 and $80,000 per year that support tuition fees, living expenses and study tours each year. In order to apply you must have completed two years at university or college level in another country by August 2022.
