Top 10 Universities Without IELTS Requirements For 2023

1) Study at Oxford University

Oxford University is an internationally recognized university located in Oxford, England. It has been named as one of Britain’s finest universities. Due to its long history and outstanding results, it is also considered one of the most prestigious universities in Great Britain.

Many local and international students have chosen to study here at one point or another. One of their requirements is that all potential students have a high level of English language proficiency. This includes presenting certain scores on their International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score reports before they can be admitted into any undergraduate program or program of study.

2) New York University (NYU)

NYU’s Tisch School of The Arts offers a one-year Master of Fine Arts program, but applicants don’t need to submit their scores. If you want to complete your MFA at NYU, you need only fill out an application with two supporting letters of recommendation and a written statement indicating why NYU is right for you. And if you aren’t an artist but want to learn more about visual media, there are plenty of opportunities to do so as well; all students have access to facilities like 3D printers and digital imaging workstations. You can even head into Manhattan on Saturdays for hands-on art classes taught by professional artists and educators from around New York City.

3) University of Minnesota – Twin Cities (UMN)

The University of Minnesota’s Twin Cities campus is a public research university that offers bachelor’s degrees in over 140 areas of study. The school has been accredited by North Central Association of Colleges and Schools since 1916, placing it among one of nearly 60 public and private schools to hold such a distinction. UMN is located on both Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota, making it one of only four universities to have a location in each city. At roughly 100k undergraduate students, UMN is ranked as one of America’s largest campuses by Forbes magazine.

4) UCL (University College London)

UCL is a global research university ranked among the world’s top 40. It boasts an impressive list of past and present academics including Francis Crick, who discovered DNA and received a Nobel Prize for his efforts, Chaka Khan and Ben Goldacre. The institution has no official language requirements so applicants can apply in their native tongue. When applying to study at UCL you must have either a UK Baccalaureate (or equivalent qualification), or 2 years’ work experience in addition to GCSE English Language grades C or above.

5) UCLA (University of California Los Angeles)

UCLA is one of many universities which requires students from non-English speaking countries to sit an English proficiency test. This can be waived if your country ranks in the top 20 for ease of learning English. Along with Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and Singapore, those who hold citizenship in any of these countries are able to apply without sitting a test.

Additionally, international students who have completed their secondary school education in one of these five countries don’t have to take an English proficiency test either. On rare occasions it may be possible to get a waiver on academic grounds but you’ll need substantial proof that you will do well academically at UCLA despite not having passed an English exam.

6) UC Berkeley

The University of California, Berkeley, is a public research university located in Berkeley, California. Founded in 1868, it is the flagship institution of the ten research universities affiliated with the University of California system. By 1888, just six years after its founding, Berkeley had already grown to more than 531 students and 54 faculty members. The 1906 San Francisco earthquake leveled almost every building on campus except for Hearst Hall (the main building housing classrooms and administration offices), but through persistence by then-president Benjamin Ide Wheeler, a new administration building was completed in 1910.

7) Harvard University

Well-known American Ivy League university located in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Founded in 1636 and celebrating its 375th anniversary next year, Harvard is home to more than 20,000 students who take advantage of its rich academic offerings, including more than 300 courses given by Harvard faculty members. Students can choose from a host of academic programs in nine schools:

This is a public university located in Leipzig, Germany with more than 5,000 students enrolled every year. Its Bachelor’s Degree programs are offered in management, law, economics and social sciences. Those who plan to study business administration may apply for its Master’s Degree program. It is best suited for those looking for a career in Germany. The medium of instruction is German.
