Swami Vivekananda Scholarship Eligibility Criteria 2023
To be eligible for Swami Vivekananda Scholarship, a student must meet the following criteria:
- The student must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.
- The student must be studying in a recognized educational institution in West Bengal.
- For Class 11 and Class 12, the student must have passed the Madhyamik or equivalent examination with at least 75% marks.
- For undergraduate courses, the student must have passed the Higher Secondary or equivalent examination with at least 75% marks.
- For postgraduate courses, the student must have obtained at least 53% marks in the Honours subject at the undergraduate level.
Additionally, they should have secured 60% marks in aggregate in their last qualifying examination if they passed in the years 2022, 2021, or 2020.
- For previous year passout candidates, the minimum required marks are 75%. The qualifying examination must be from West Bengal Board of Secondary Education/West Bengal Council for Higher Secondary Education/Madrasa Education for Higher Secondary level or Under Graduate level Scholarship.
- Students who are pursuing diploma courses from Institutes approved by AICTE and affiliated to WBSCT&VE&SD for Under Graduate level Scholarship (in 2nd year
- Engineering/Technology/Pharmacy courses through Lateral Entry) or affiliated by State Medical Faculty for Under Graduate level Scholarship (in 2nd year Pharmacy course through Lateral Entry) must have secured a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in their diploma course.
- For PG Level Scholarship (General Education), students must have secured 53% marks in aggregate in Graduation (Honours Subject) from any State University.
- For Post Graduate Level Scholarship (Engineering/Technology/Pharmacy), they must have secured 55% marks in Graduate Courses from any State University or AICTE approved Institute of West Bengal.
- Students pursuing M.Phil courses and Doctoral courses (Non-NET Junior Research fellow and NET-Lecturership) from State-aided institutions are also eligible for the SVMCM scholarship.
- Female students who have obtained at least 45% marks in aggregate in their UG degree and are pursuing PG degrees from universities of the state can apply for the scholarship scheme as Kanyashree(K3) applicants.
