SSP Scholarship | Eligibility Requirements
Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program, must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Students in their final year of study may also apply if they will have earned 90 credits or more by June 1st and plan to graduate before September 1st. Must also be a citizen of one of these nations: Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia.
How to Apply for SSP Scholarship?
Students who wish to apply must fill out an application form available on our website, and students are also encouraged to submit a brief statement of interest by e-mailing us at [email protected] with SSP Application in your subject line.
Applicants should also prepare a single one-page research statement that describes their area of expertise, interests, and future plans (include name of university and program). All applications must be received no later than May 15, 2022. Students will be notified about selection results by e-mail by June 15th. Each selected student will receive a check for $1,000 from Intel Company. SSP Scholarship is open only to current undergraduate students pursuing studies leading to Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees at universities located in North America.
Selection Criteria
At least 55% of marks in Class XII or equivalent examination, with a minimum score of 65% in Mathematics and English Language. A valid score in JEE Main 2022 and admission to a B.E./B.Tech program at an IIT (MHRD recognized institute) by 30th April 2022.
Additionally, final year students must have secured at least 75% aggregate marks till 15th Jan 2022 (including backlogs). Candidates who are awaiting their results may also apply and will be considered only if they secure an aggregate percentage of 70% (or equivalent CGPA) based on best four subjects in Class XII.
Past Recipients
Each year, SSP awards four or five $10,000 scholarships to outstanding undergraduate students. Since 2004, SSP has awarded more than 30 undergraduates $400,000 in SSP Scholarship funding. Students may apply each year they are enrolled as an undergraduate at a four-year college or university in any U.S. state or territory and provide proof of enrollment status through their college registrar’s office.
Selection criteria are strong academic performance and evidence of meaningful participation in an extracurricular activity at their school (in addition to applicants’ responses to our online essay questions).
