Rotary Peace Scholarships, supported by Rotary clubs worldwide, provide full funding to students around the world to study one year of graduate school in the U.S., U.K., or Australia with leading universities in their field of study. The scholarship program began in 1989 and has awarded over 2,600 scholarships that have had an estimated value of $40 million. The scholarships are offered at no cost to the recipients, who receive only the cost of tuition and any books or supplies required by their program of study.

What are the Rotary Peace Scholarships?

The Rotary Foundation’s long-term program of peace, which includes international exchange and youth leadership programs. Since its inception in 1925, more than 30,000 individuals have participated in Rotary Peace Programs and activities. About 1,500 scholars are currently participating in over 20 countries around the world. Rotary also supports annual graduate fellowships at a number of leading universities around the world through its cooperation with The Paul G. Rogers International Graduate Fellowships Program at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government and its collaboration with The World Affairs Councils of America.

A Rotary Peace Scholar is an active global citizen, who believes that every person on earth deserves equal access to opportunity. As a scholar, you will gain more than just experience: you’ll develop essential leadership skills and build relationships with other student leaders, experts in international affairs and world peace. You’ll live overseas for two years on your own—living independently or with roommates and friends in another country, attending university or some other kind of advanced studies program. There’s no single track of study, nor is there a requirement to enroll in an academic program—you’re free to pursue what interests you most! Who Is Eligible?

In order to qualify for a Rotary Peace Scholarships , applicants must have completed at least two years of college at time of application and must be enrolled in their final year of study or intend to enroll within six months of graduation. Students should not be more than 28 years old as of December 31, 2022. Rotary club members are eligible to apply whether they are still in high school or have already graduated from college. To date, there is no age limit on scholarship recipients. In addition, there is no restriction on nationality; all candidates should however reside outside North America and Western Europe.
